Let’s talk about my so-called titles.

Jesus Follower – I love Jesus. He is my Rock, my Protector, my calm and I sure need a lot of calm in my life. I don’t get too flustered at too much and I attribute that to my Calm, my Jesus.

Wife – Pretty sure I fail at this most days. My husband says otherwise, but he’s my husband, he has to say that. But, I am a wife to a pretty wonderful husband. He too is my rock and protector, but I think I’m his calm (except when I’m not and he wants to kill me and the youngest.)

Momma – I have two amazing adult children. They are about as different as they can possibly be, but I’m about as proud of each of them as I can possibly be for their own reasons. I usually feel like I’m failing at this job too, what momma doesn’t, but then one of them will do or say something and I think that possibly I did okay. They are exceptional humans.

Bonus mom – I have two outstanding bonus daughters. I met “the girls” shortly after I met my husband. They were almost 6 and 8 at the time. I truly love them like my own. I like to believe I had a small part of the exceptional humans that they have become and then one of them will do something or say something and I realize there a small piece of me inside both of them.

Stepmom – You may be trying to figure out the difference between a bonus mom and a stepmom, but there just is. See, my husband also has three children who were basically adults when we met. Two of them were graduating high school and the third was married. They didn’t need a bonus mom or even a stepmom, but maybe they needed me to just love them and their spouses/significant others so I have. You can never have too many people who love you.

Momma MiChelle – My kids bring kids home. I love them because my kids love them. Remember, you can never have too many people who love you.

Grandi – I became a Grandi in 2023. I now have 5 beautiful granddaughters. I love those girls! It is so much fun to watch them grow and watch their parents, parent. Being a Grandi is one of the highlights of my world.

Daughter – I guess this was my first title. I am blessed to have three parents who love me. My momma allowed my parents to adopt me as a newborn. Who I am is a direct result of this courageous decision that she made for me. My parents have been the best parents a girl could ask for because God’s plan is always best. I met my momma when I was almost 40. I went through one of the most difficult times of my life about a year later, and I’m not sure how I would have made it without her and Jesus–God’s plan, remember. I love being a daughter.

Sister – When I became a daughter, I also became a sister to my first brother. At almost 40, I became a sister again. I love my siblings.

Sister-in-love – My siblings have the best spouses. I am their sister-in-love. I love the way they love my siblings (and me).

Aunt – I have nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, none of whom I see often, but love fiercely.

Friend – I don’t have a lot of these, but those who call me friend, I treasure.

Multigenerational Caregiver – This is exactly how it sounds: I care for people within multiple generations. They need me, I’m here for them–always!
